Went on New Seaforth with my 2 friends and my girlfriend.. What a blast we had. We headed to La Jolla for some barracudas..

I used a Tady 45 scramble egg and lost it to something big! That was my favorite iron, I guess its retiring.. Then I switched to my Tady 45 purple, white,&black iron and lost it to something that was pulling drag even though its buttoned down.. :(

I managed 2 barraucdas only on my backup Tady 45 purple, white,&black iron! Which was really B.S.!

My friend managed 2 barracudas only also on the Salas baby 5x mint swirl.

My friend managed 1 barracuda only on the Pro Series swimbait Halloween 5"

My girlfriend managed nada this time.. Sucks.. But next time she'll have fun with the bluefins :)

So we ended up with 5 barracuda and 15 free barracuda from someone.

Fun day to clean the boat also! Love that bleach ;)

Nice meeting you Ooilie! Told ya my iron don't splash or see it :)

Pics be up later when myu girlfriend uploads them on photobuckett

Nice report bro. Sorry to hear about the loss of a loved one. I feel your pain. What line were you throwing? I don't ask to antagonize but I'm concerned that I may be throwing too light of a line for my irons. If anything good can come from this, maybe the rest of us will learn from your mistakes (if any). Thanx for sharing.

    Peace,
    James

cuda often bite at the iron that another fish is hooked on, resulting in the loss of your tackle, even with steel leaders. as well, sometimes the dogs get the cuda's once hooked resulting in it feeling like you hooked a submarine. can never say for certain unless you see/catch it, but both sound like possible scenerios.

I was using Izorline First String 40# monofiliment.

I would never go anything under than 40# jigging irons..

First time this snapped on a perfect wet uni knot!

I'm guessing it was just bad line that was used 2 times for
    jigging..
1st trip caught 20+ bonito and 10+ barracuda
    2nd trip was 30+ barraucdas..
