Hmmm...I thought to myself...who is that guy in line launching after me who yelled hey VinnyBass? My eyes could not believe it as it was the recently retired skillful angler who we all know as mcfish. Wow...he was roughing it today to come all the way down from Ramona to Lake Murray today to test the waters. And speaking of that, Murray's water is a muddy green color (mcfish pointed out later maybe that is why there was no topwater action because the bass could not see the shad...ha ha!). Oh yeah...back to the fish report. Lots of boats today as Otay was closed today. It was a little tougher outing for me today. I just could not focus on what I was doing as I kept going back and forth between flipping in the tulles to just going over many times to see how mcfish was doing in different parts of the lake(he may have tried to get a restraining order, but I think he was put on hold and gave up).
It was great sharing fish stories and I always have fun enjoying his witty humor. Oh yeah....back to the fish report again. The bass were playing hard to get or maybe I just worked my worms just too fast in the 81 degree water. I did put 4 bass in the boat when I settled down a little...one on a fluke, a craw bait and 2 on plastic worms. Nothing big(3lb'er was tops), but here is a couple pics anyway. I am sure mcfish will have some comments as he caught more bass than I did. Like I said he is "the recently retired skillful angler who we all know as mcfish. :)

Had fun with mcfish today and no matter what happens on the lake, it is always fun to come home and have 2 boxes from the Bass Pro Shop and a Tackle Warehouse box waiting on my porch for me as icing on the cake!

It's going to be very hot up at your lake this weekend..98 Saturday and 100 on Sunday. Good luck on your boat service...I think they will do a great job. Hope you stay cool and the fishing is hot and you catch some nice bass if you are able to go this weekend! :)

I'm definitely going out Saturday morning. Hoping for a little topwater action..and if not, I bought some BIG BIG worms and 7/0 hooks for after the sun comes up and the bass move deeper. Thanks on the boat service, should be a breeze for them to get it done.

After being out on the lakes the same time as Mr. Vinnybass, I finally figured out why his bass always look bigger in his pictures than my fish....it's because his fish ARE bigger than my fish! I think I can put more numbers in the boat, but his average fish is definitely gonna be bigger! Yesterday was a great example. Because of the numbers of fish I catch, I normally can mix in a couple bigger fish, but because of the baits Mr. Vinnybass throws, he's definitely targeting bigger fish..but maybe smaller numbers. I'm Mr. Finesse, he's Mr. Bubba! Being on the lake with Mr. Vinnybass is always an education..he throws baits that would scare the crap out of half my fish! Interesting day on Murray yesterday, water color I've never seen there before and more boats than I've ever seen! I had to work for my fish but it was an all around fun day sharing the lake with Mr. Vinny..not sure I would of spent 8 hours there yesterday if not for our lengthy discussions on Life and Fishing!

I now know how to stock my boat with all the cool baits..I'm waiting in the bushes next to Mr. Vinnybass's front porch in anticipation of the UPS guy! I could probably score some good stuff on a daily basis! On my way home, I might as well stop by RamonaAngler's front porch to round out my frog collection!

There is one thing for sure......You don't have to be Nostradamus to predict that RamonaAngler will be ordering more frogs in the future. :)

I see you brought out the big boat for Mr. Mcfish. He can be intimidating when shows up on your ground!! Sounds like you kinda did ok with him around. I can only imagine if he’d of stayed on the mountain you’d have 10 with 3 nice ones for kickers!!! Lol

Shake up? a reality check?....hey tsugg..I deal with reality every day of my life. And by the way, I can’t make the fish bite every fishing trip. I can only try to get them to bite using skills I have learned through many years of trials and errors, failures and accomplishments.
