Got to Sutherland at 9:30, fished till 2:30. Started out with a orange/crawdad colored 7-10 foot diving crank bait.
Second cast, fish on. 9:48 AM-Just a little guy, but a decent start to the day.

    IMG_20180324_094831.jpg

The next cast, I got hung up and lost the lure...OUCH! So I tied on a square-billed crank bait in shad color. No luck with the square bill. Tried a suspending jerkbait for about 1/2 hour. No luck with the jerkbait. Threw a white hollow bodied frog in the bushes for fun. No takers. Figured they weren't chasing, so I tied on Mr. Senko, and threw him in the "stick ups".11:19 AM FISH ON. Another small one, but, I'll take it.

Seems I figured out a pattern with the Senko in the stick ups....so I continued the rest of the day with the Senko, fly-lined (no weight) into the trees sticking up around the shoreline. Next one at 12:08PM....a very nice and fat 4 pound girl with eggs.

12:17 PM...another smaller model on the Senko.....

12:31 another fat 5+ pound girl!!

    IMG_20180324_123158.jpg

12:56PM Another FAT one, a la JJbasser IMG_20180324_125628.jpg

    1:22PM another Dink
    IMG_20180324_132231.jpg

1:45PM last one of the day...another dink....got windy and headed for the dock.
    IMG_20180324_132430.jpg

All in all a GREAT day for me at Sutherland. Except for the 1st dink with the crank bait, all the others were caught within 10 feet of the shoreline in depths between 1 and 9 feet in the trees sticking up out of the water.
Actually, this was my best day at Sutherland in years.

Great job on whacking the wily bassies. I spent the morning cleaning and prepping the little tin boat after it had sat since summer, and was going to take it up there but....I was tired and ended up driving up in the afternoon with just a couple of rods and a small tackle box in my truck. Threw some plastic for a couple of hours in few different spots, but got no love from the little green fish this time around.

Sorry to hear you didn't nab a few of those bassgalrascal . You'll get em next time. Green and green/black flake worked the best for me yesterday. Hope to see you out there soon.

The one weekend I could not go!!! I hate to say it, but that is pretty much the pattern that I suggested! ;)
