Got to fish for once instead of working. So I picked up the acting captains rod (Tony) and murdered some bass instead. Turned out almost of all my bass were 3lb+ so most were released. The biggun was after I rubbed Magnum’s Buddha belly for good luck. Caught on a reverse dropper loop and a large sardine.

Nice fish, I once caught a 9lber but it’s been 30 years or so haven’t caught another bigger than 2lbs since but hey you just proved it.
Can you explain the reverse dropper and what determines when you use that setup for me I think I’m a little confused?

Reverse dropper loop has the sinker above the hook. I personally prefer it for fishing right on the bottom and drifting bottom.

Fat Spottie-good on you. If I get a really big bass I throw it in the forward bait tank, that way I have it for jackpot but release it afterwards.

We have this one customer Robert who does it from time to time. I accidentally released his last big bass last time... that sucked.

I woulda killed it. It has made plenty of babies. Plus it's just a turd roller. They only live to around 30 years. Most of ypu guys think nothing of killing a rockfish that is probably 80-200 years old.

not like we have a choice to release a rock when the boats don't carry the proper equipment to release them properly and safely back to the depths we fish them from. bass on the other hand we do have the means to do it without anything special.
