Well....since I took some pics last Sunday of the high water level at Lake Miramar....I decided to take my kayak up for a few hours this morning to see how the bite is. The water was still high but down a foot or two since last week. I ventured around for a bit along the tulles. Tossed a few plastics at the edges of them and no takers. I moved around for a while trying to figure out where I would be fishing. Then near a point I started working in a little deeper water which is my normal fishing area when I fish Miramar. (In Spring...I fish shallow mostly).
Anyway....I finally got bit in about 24' of water and a small bass came off after the first jump. Then a while later, had another small bass on but it came off too. I decided to go to the drop shot rig. I finally landed a small bass and felt a little better once it was in my kayak. Anyway....I used MM worms and small purple worms and each time I got bit I envisioned a healthier bass, but all that came up were dinks. Between missing a handful of bass down deep in the weeds, I was able to land 8 very small bass. I figured 8 dinks is enough for this fishing adventure and headed in to go home. It was a beautiful day and it was fun to be on the water again. :)

A few pics(for mcfish to laugh at)

    My 2 big ones....HA HA!

Oh wait.....this is the type of bass most likely that sadly
breaks mcfish's line up at Sutherland. :)

8 LMB at Miramar sounds pretty good to me. Way to get out there Vinny.

    That's funny!
I caught one a few years ago on Father's Day(or was it 3 or 4 years ago?) that was about 3 1/2lbs and it looked like it was 6lbs compared to the other bass I caught that day...ha ha. Lots and lots of clones at Miramar but these bass were even smaller than usual compared to the small bass I have caught the past 2 summers up there.

That is a nice fish, but I am talking about 20 years further back in the day. Fish pushing 20 lbs.

5 of the top 25 Bass have come from Miramar!
