Fished with the wife Saturday for the last visit of the year. My 16 year old and his buddy fished a second boat. It was really slow for us, but the quality was not bad. Fish are clearly fatter than the last couple month, so that is good. It was a really scattered bite - with a couple here and there on various things, including jigs, underspin with 3.3 and 3.8 keitech (best lure of the day for me), flukes (deadly when we ran into some busters chasing bait in the cove near pigs), ned rig, jerkbait, and TR craws. I am sure I am forgetting something since we threw the kitchen sink at them. In hindsight, I suspect we would have done well to really slow down and even deadstick with soft plastics in a little deeper water.

Biggest was 4.5 and had several over 3.

The old folks won the day with a little over 15 pounds for our best 5!

It was super slow overall - but still a great way to spend a September day!

Shout out to Tammi at Skyline Ranch Campground right up the road for a great camping spot. If you are coming from a few hours away like me and want to enjoy the whole Barrett experience without the LONG drive on both ends, it’s a great and cheap option. $20 per night, super clean, friendly and close.

    Cheers - till next year…

You got some nice ones and had a good time. That’s what it’s all about.
