I went out this morning from 7:30am-10am, tide was low going to middle. I did @RippinLip619 a favor and did a rod exchange with @ED3 yesterday morning. The custom look to the new rod is sweeeeet and I couldn't help but try it out before I had to hand it over. I took some indirect advice from @ED3 while we chatted and downsized my bait today. I definitely noticed an increase in hookups. I also caught my first corbina and halibut in mission bay today as well. Ended the morning with 12 spotties, 2 halibut and 1 corbina all on a t-rigged baby bass fluke.

I'd love to hook into another one, it's an awesome fish! I released this one, but I am curious about the size regulations for corbina. I googled it when I caught the fish trying to see if it was a keeper or not and the first thing that pops up is a statement claiming to have a minimum 22" size limit. After further research it seems as if there is no size limit to taking one home? I saw @scisports caught one somewhat recently and took it home, how did that turn out?

Is catching corbina on plastics a rare by-catch or is it just a seasonal thing?

I don't know why but that reminds of Muskie being the fish of 10,000 casts.. I feel like we should call the Mullet the fish of 1 million casts..

Gulf of Mexico. . lol.. The mullet down there tend to be much more easily taken on hook and line for some reason..

Thats interesting I wonder if something like this would work for mullet if you could get it to stay on a hook.
