Just happened to watch a YT video of one method to add glitter flakes to the skin of a soft plastic lure using Mend-It
soft plastic glue. I don't use the glue to mend plastic lures but at least now I know it works for adding glitter. First off the glue is applied to the area limited to just the glitter and then the lure is either rolled over a small pile of glitter or sprinkled on the wet glue. The glue can also be used as a coating over the flakes kind of like a sheet of clear plastic.

Normally I mix glitter into hot plastic just before a lure is poured or sprinkle glitter into the mold. This way glitter can be concentrated anywhere on the lure's surface and flashes much brighter.

I may try this because chrome soft plastics are rare if they even exist.

Cheap craft store glitter worked pretty good and didn't affect action or rub off. Clear plastic hand pour originally. Used lime green, chartreuse and a bit of orange. Should have just the right amount of flash.

Believe me, the design works for all species! I'm finding that more sites that sell panfish lures are selling it in many colors. I discovered it by accident five years ago when I caught this perch and many more fish on it on the same day:

It must have been the tail of a plastic worm that I dipped in hot plastic and rigged on a light jighead.
