I arrived to the first dock around 6 am. I had every bait you could think of. Live, dead, swimbait rod loaded, pitching rod loaded. Typically you'd have the usual bass suspects hanging around the dock. I saw absolutely nothing. At the end of the dock I had a large piece of mack soaking since I showed up. 3 hours later I still have not seen any signs of life. I walk to the end of the dock to toss out my 8" hudd. About 4 casts in something happened and as I went to cast, my hudd snapped off and my rod slipped from my hands and went for a swim. My most expensive setup was slowing sinking to the abyss. My life flashed before my eyes. Before I knew it, I was under the dock railing, sliding head first to grab my rod. Third blind grab, arm and chest soaked, I was able to grab it. Heart racing and chest sore from my fat *** diving on the dock. Very bummed about the hudd but was thankful it wasn't one of the more expensive Swimbaits. It close to 9 and still no action. I sit on the rail and figure I'm going to move to a different spot. As I'm looking at the ton of gear I brought and figuring out what to pack up first. I see the line on my mackerel pole start to tighten up. Want sure if it was the wind. The wind was howling today. Next my alarm starts to go off. Fish on! 15 minutes later I net the biggest fish I have ever caught. 17 pound catfish! 8 hours lster, I'm still stoked!

It's not a bass but I'll still consider myself a part of the double digit club!

5 minutes later I get a huge hit on a different pole with another large piece of mackerel. Picked it up and never came back for it.

That was all the action I had. Couldn't ask for anything more!

    It was released.

Very nice. Wanting to say Blue, but I've been wrong about Cat ID before. I'm going by the cut anal fin and the lobes on the tail. Yes?

It's a nice channel catfish. Overbite gives it away

Way to beat the skunk and nice job grabbing the pole. Last year at barret I dropped my favorite spinning rig when unhooking a bass in my float tube, wasn't able to grab it because of my waders. Kicked to shore and spent 2 hours fishing it out with a one ounce salt water jig head, just before giving up I hooked it on my last cast and dragged it back to shore, catch of a lifetime lol.

We saw you owning that dock, nice job with the PB! My buddy and I were in the tin can with the trolling motor. I was thinking to myself when we were coming back from the east part of the lake and saw you again "man this guy is really dedicated to this spot" haha.

I saw you guys trolling. That was after I landed the catfish and had another huge hit on a larger piece of mackerel. I was going to ask if you guys marked any fish in that area.

Dedication or just pure laziness. It's a fine line when fishing.

I'm the type that would fish for hours without once single bite. And when I'm ready to give up and get even the slightest bite, I'm back in it for a few more hours. It's an addiction...

We weren't seriously trolling, just messing around. There were a few fish holding to the bottom in about 30ft across the way from your dock. There was some good patches of grass but couldn't get any bites. Hard to hold a spot with the wind which is also why we looked like were trolling.
