I am headed for the beach to see mom and thought I better throw in my fishing gear - just in case. My question is it is REALLY windy up here in the mountains, if it's windy in PB is this a bad time to fish? Does it effect fishing if it's blowing pretty good at the bay? Anything I need to know?

    Thanks again.

My view on is is the fish can't feel wind. So it will change how you fish but it won't change the fishing.
Only a couple things the wind can affect the fishing is blowing plankton and seaweed which the tides already does that.

I had a hurricane session after work last week. Did good! Fish don't mind a little bit of wind and chop. It does affect your casting, and debris floating on the waters surface.

It also depends on what you're fishing with. It's going to be more difficult with light tackle constantly throwing lures, then using heavy tackle with half a mackerel on your hook

Then my big pole with a half of a mack it is. Can I catch a shark with that? What eats a half a mack?

Sharks, rays, big bass, big macks, bonito, eels, octopus, chupacabra, anything that can fit the hook in its mouth.

Yes you can catch sharks. Mostly shovel nose and leopards, but I've never caught a Leo in the bay (yet!)

I'm at the bay and the tide is SUPER low. Now I'm stumped as to where to go. I'm at Crown Point because I've had luck here but I am thinking it will be really grassy. Gah!!

Go to the west side of the bridge in fishermans channel. Stay on the beach side. It's fairly deep over there. Idk what bait/lure your using, but there's plenty of fish over there

Grassy as in eel grass is good. Low tide and you can reach it.....Catch some Spotties in the eel grass and some Sandies in the sand....

    Good luck
