Got to the lake at 6:00, a few more boats in the lot than normal, found out they had closed El Cap. Nice overcast morning, couldn't help but pull out my flukes, a little earlier in the year than normal. I fished them 4"-6" below the surface and nailed fish til 11:00 when the sun came out! I switched over to dropshotting then and continued to get fish. A really fun day! I talked to a lot of guys fishing the banks, saying how tough the bite was. The majority of fish I'm getting aren't near the bank, they're 20' off steep rocky shorelines! 20210412_123847.jpg 20210412_102651.jpg 20210412_102713.jpg 20210412_080235.jpg 20210412_070348.jpg I hope this helps anybody going out there! I know it's tempting to throw at the shoreline. But there's more and better fish deeper. My fluke fish were over 15'-20' feet of water. My dropshot fish were at the bottom in the same depth! Good luck!

It was a great morning, I looked for ya. It was very solid fishing for me today. I can't take pictures solo, so why try. They are out off the bank. It was a finesse day today , that glass let's me fish small baits that get blown sideways on days with wind, went through 3 bags of bait.
That will help the economy rebound.
    Nice report

You went through 3 bags of baits? Are you now out of Banjo Minnows?

Normally a Monday starts a work week and most people dread it. I think Mondays are your favorite day of the week, especially since you are retired and the fish at San V dread it...ha ha
Another fun day for you and catching bass is not a fluke for you....oh wait...you used a fluke...I get it...ha ha
Nice report and fun pics. Tight lines always(on other days of the week too). :)

Another fun and great day of fishing for you mcfish ! When I was at San V a couple of weeks ago, they were off the banks and in about 20 feet of water, too. Thanks for the report and pics! Hope to see you out there next Monday the 19th.

Yesterday at Murray a guy told me there was some crazy party or parties going on an El Monte park and it might be related as someone drowned up at El Cap on Sunday. No facts, but lots of speculation so far.

I guess 1 person dying is not newsworthy enough for our media. Sad.
