It's all fun and games, but I never missed a opportunity to chow down at Kadena AFB
Sure beats the chow hall at a grunt base

My 0.2 would to have him go to Mesa or Miramar and get into the ROTC and go in as a officer. I’m still thinking about it myself. Covers the price of a full 4 year college tuition. The GE courses he would be taking at a JC would be $800 a semester and about $1200 with books and homework stuff.

He's in the pipeline! He graduates "A" School on the 24th and then gets to come home for the first time since November! Then back to Power School... He gets his brains from his momma :emoji_joy:

I’ve heard horror stories regarding the intensity of that program, it really is something else.

I went Enlisted because I didn't like school either!!! But, later in life I went to school while I was on shore duty and got an AA (from Southwestern College) and a BS (from Southern Illinois University)...

I have also, and more importantly, so has he! I was stationed on a nuke cruiser at my first command so I also knew quite a few "nukes".
He knows what he signed up for and is determined to get the $$$$$$ that they are waiving in front of him as a carrot to make it!

All the more power to him, if I was navy I would go for it in a heartbeat, don’t mind a few more red and gray hairs.

I took fun classes at Southwestern.
    Photography and aquariums.
I took classes at City College for the substation apprentice electrician program. The rest was on the job training. After completing a Navy school it gave me a jump on the apprentice program. My last year in the Navy was on a destroyer.
