So, I've been shore pounding around the bays and lakes (LA and SD) most of my life. Some good days, some skunk days. I think it's finally time for me to get out on the water and I've been looking for a relatively inexpensive starter kayak to get me started. I saw a kayak on OfferUp within my price range and I made an offer. The guy didn't know what he had so I did some research based on pics he sent me. There were no decals or any identifying marks or serial numbers. I did get a seat and paddle, some old scupper plugs and cordage, and a homemade scupper dolly.

I think its a Vanhunks Whale Runner based on pics I found using my Google Fu. What do you guys think? Vanhunks or something else?

    Sorry, I don't know how to post a pic. Here's a link: KAYAK.jpg

Looks perfectly capable for bay fishing. At 9' long, I'd be hesitant about taking it offshore any distance, especially solo.

Short bay sessions on the weekends mainly. Hoping to get more hours on it before Spring.
