Ken Burns, “Country Music” series. Fascinating narrative of the genre’s impact on our culture and history, (or is it the other way around?). Check it out – really well done IMO.

I haven't seen that one, but all of his work is exceptional. A true master storyteller.

Civil War series was worth watching. Worst name ever for a war. Nothing civil about it.

My wife told me about the Country Music series and I intended to watch but forgot.

It's interesting to see how music has evolved over the years from pure mountain southern folk, gospel to rocka billy, etc all around the country with different styles. Burns does an excellent job on all his historical films. Tonight is getting into the '50's-'60's and away from the Hank Williams, Carter family venue. "....your cheating heart." Gotta have a pickup, girlfriend, hound dog, lose them all and then get them back to complete the cycle.:emoji_cry:

Particularly intrigued with Charley Pride and the uh, “obstacles” he ran into back in the 60’s while trying to establish himself in Nashville. A man of many talents…

Ever since "old town road", I keep hearing trap beats everywhere, yes, even in country music.. interesting, and strange

Also notice the "clap track" or "snap track" it's a simple pop music formula. Not much original anymore.

Civil War and The West are by far my favorites. I have Baseball and Vietnam War on my list, well now Country Music too.
