I've always wanted to take place in some sort of competition in fishing:]

lets see what you guys say about that and see if we can come up with the rules and fee's while we do so?

    always fishing,
    Jeremy

    I think it's a great idea.

Well, the size limit should be 12" or over because I think shore fishing is ALOT harder to nail big ones. (I don't know, you may think my logic is pretty messed up.) The fee maybe 5$ nothing too much, so we don't kill each other ;).

    Where should we fish?
I we'll have to see, but I'm pretty sure Dink will be up for this tourney.

If you do it, you will have to do something like the photo weigh-in. You can't drag fish around on shore. Your minimum size has to be at least what the minimum size is for the body of water you're fishing.

yeah i say we go to loveland or something.

a lake with a lot of shore fishing would be good

    and 5 dollars sounds nice.

we could get out there by like 6am and start the tourney at 6:30
    and weigh in at 12.

just lets figure out a date.

    i'm open for all suggestions.

as for the day june 27th works for me... cant go anytime sooner if its a saturday....

you should let this thing air out for bit... let people respond, and get more people to commit to the tourney

    sounds good

we'll see if we can get more people

    maybe instead of fish weight
we should do a fish total?

I'm not sure about loveland, maybe Santee, which has alot of shore fishing + lots of bass, or we could try Walmart Pond, Dnk and I may have caught 3 bass, but they were keepers in SD standard.

The object of fishing is to try to catch fish, if it was meant to always catch fish it would be called catching instead of fishing. So what if the Santee bass are picky, they are like that elsewhere too. My suggestion is do it by either photo or numbers but need to be honest about it, or set up a MBF with guys that have boats to take a non-boater and fish that way so you can have a weigh in.

Santee Lakes sounds the best due to its massive shore fishing and several lakes
plus they've been hot on lake 5

so is everyone down for June 27th?

Make it the honor system rather than a weigh-in. Count every fish over 12 inches. No entry fee. That's my two cents.

But really, pick a date that works for a handful of your friends, and just do it. Publicize it a little here...and if more people show, great...if they don't, you can get bogged down in trying to find a date that works for the most people...rules...etc. Every clown out there offers his two cents (I did!)...and most of 'em don't even show up anyway (I probably won't). Don't let it become a headache, and good on you for putting something together.

Thanks CK, I think there should be no entry fee, because we could just have the fun competing against each other.
