im gonna make this pretty quick cause i couldnt sleep a wink last night and i really have no idea how i am typing right now. haha
anyway, i packed up the truck at 2am cause i couldnt sleep. my and my friends got there 3rd in line.
we had to wait till 5:30 to get let in because ticketmaster had 5:30 on their site, so Laurie let people come till 5:30.
anyway, we got there so early and we had the lights on and the radio on for a couple hours. when she let us in, my battery was dead in my truck. so we watched everyone drive on in while we looked for jumper cables. yeah it sucked, but we found a guy from the next group who had some. we only lost like 20 minutes. no biggie.
got to the dock and there were 2 boats left. we couldnt get either motor to start. Laurie said shed give us her boat if she couldnt get it started. after a while it finally did. i thought it was gonna be a long day, haha.
we shot out to hauser. pretty far back, but not the whole way. got there about 7am.
    dropped off our tuber.
    i threw a buzzbait to start. 1st cast, 1st fish. 2nd cast 2nd fish. 3rd cast 3rd fish.
    yeah .
    i was pretty excited.
nailed 2 more on the buzz and then got 4 on senkos.
switched to the blade and that is when it got retarded.
at 8:30 i made the switch.
at 9:50 i had 30 fish in the boat.
    the blade was wide open.
7 fish in my first 9 casts.
i was worried about throwing out my back. haha.
seriously guys, i have been to barrett 20+ times and never had the blade bite been so wide open.
we were pretty much burning em back to the boat and getting hammered hard.
at 10am we switched sides of the lake looking for bigger bass.
the big one thus far was about 3lbs.
picked up a few more and had lunch.
we had big fish in the trees way back in pine creek arm last year so we made the trek.
    man, it sucked back there.
tiny and not very many bass.
granted it was pretty windy and i was fading.
we wasted 45 minutes trying to get the damn motor started and got out of there around 4:30.
went back to hauser and finished the day with the blade gettin hot again and some dropshot action.
    what else can i say???
we managed 133 bass as a group.
im really sure that if we would have stayed in hauser we could have hit 200.
a ton of fun in the morning.
    dont miss the first train.
    conditions were good.
water temp 67-68 on my fish finder.
water levels were pretty much the same as last year.
    maybe a little higher.
maybe a little lower i couldnt really remember. i went 2 times last year is all.
    colors didnt matter.
    we all threw different stuff.
i used watermelon senkos, baby bass reapers, shad color blades.
    there ya go.
im gettin a massage from my wife now.
    avoid motor 87 and 118.
im too tired to proofread this.
    night

Shutymouth, sorry I didn't have any jumper cables. You were in the front of the line too. Nice report. Did you have the grass that was around the dam about 6 to 8 feet out and like a wall?

    dfishin,
    no prob man.
i didnt even fish by the dam.

im not sayin there isnt a bite there, but we sure didnt find it.
    have a good one.

Are you sure you temp is right? Someone else told me it was like 58 degrees. It felt much colder than 67-68.

My sonar read 64-68 too. It was a good day! The blade bite was phenomenal. It was like something out of one of Shaw Grisby's or Hank Parkers private pond fishing shows!

we found most of our fish up close. our tuber was most consistantly catching fish really tight. he mostly threw senkos.

i saw a lot of fry, but i couldnt tell if i was seein rocks or beds because the water was a little cloudy.

    some fish had tail sores.

yeah it was a little more grown up than i would have thought this early in the year, but im talking about weeds.
i guess i saw some grass. but not like you had at the dam.
nothing like a patch with water all around that i can remember.
