Real Mother of Pearl and Abalone. So...if the they are from truly natural shell are they Artificial? ha! And..yes they work. My buddies were in Mexico fishing the Sea of Cortez landing Hali's and Sierras and Calicos fish from shore! My turn this weekend at our lakes!

Wow! Are these made by the same guy who did those unreal Marlin inlays on that Taylor?

Ha! no, I wish it we made them. They are made here in the USA though. I need to get more information about them as they were a gift. This weekend I am using them at the bay and at Otay. I saw some serious schools of shad last week and shad were really big. This might be a the ticket.,

You guys did those inlays yourself at Taylor? Those were incredible.

And there is no threat to these spoons breaking? I haven't handled a lot of cut abalone, so I'm ignorant to this, but abalone seems somewhat fragile when its thin? No?

That was my thought as well. From what the guys said who used them they are fine. I am only going to use one of them amd put the other two in a case. We shall see this weekend. I'll post a photo with one is a fishes mouth if I get lucky.

I would love to hear if these work in Otay, you don't hear much about people fishing spoons in the lakes around here. Either way they are beautiful. And worse case scenario, they don't work, grind them down to earrings for the lady lol

The part for me is I am spoon junky. I fish with them everytime I go out. I am so looking forward to seeing how they work. And yes... Jewelry if need be!
