Has anyone ever fished here? It is a pretty good size pond that is downstream of Lake Hodges. It's like a country park for the Rancho Santa Fe community. I was told a while ago there was good size crappie in there and if you walk down a little farther , there's a couple more bodies of water that would have bass out during spawn. Just fished the whole pond. Water was pretty clear visibility like 5-7ft. Shallow on one end but deep towards the east end where the creek runs into it. Saw 1 1lb largemouth and a bigger one with him right behind some cover. Beautiful park.

Does anyone patrol for that? I walked right in and no one said anything. I'm also going to check out one of the ponds to hike to a little further down one of the guys on the trail told me that the bass spawn down there.

Looked too nice to be open to the public. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with the other ponds.

oh ok thanks for the info. I didn't see any fishing restrictions on any of the signs. And couldn't find anything about the place online. Have you had any success there?

I did see a sign there with general rules about the park. Not a single word about fishing though.

A friend took me there years ago and the bass fishing was fish after fish and a lot of fun, nobody hassled us but I really don't have any other info except it was a fun experience.
