Also scary, but so far surprisingly I haven’t lost anything that I’ve hooked up to. Count so far is about 5 round rays and 1 yellowfin croaker which was an awesome fight! Very very surprised the izorline holds up the way it does but someone once mentioned that their line is tougher than its rated...either way it has been exciting seeing that rod bend and running to tighten the drag! Squid on a #6 mosquito hook and c-rig, thanks for the tips coach you definitely got me on my first stingray! Beautiful up close honestly, but that barb looks mean! At one point me and my buddy doubled on rays, first double up ever haha. All caught and released but some of those rays swallow the hook, I feel bad but what other way but to cut the line?

Something even cooler to mention is I have now caught 4 yellowfin croaker, and they all bit something different.

Nice yfc. Give circle hooks a try. Bait and wait with circles really reduce chances of gut hooking.

i think based on experince, the reasons rays tend to get gut hookeed is bc they eat while not moving unsimilar to bass and other saltwater species. i think that they ussally wait till almost done eating to move agin

I've caught what I thought were Round Rays, but they did not look like that! Too many Rays for me to keep up with!

Nice going....and thanks for the pics.
Most round rays seem to be a dull brown, but I've caught a few with bizarre spotted patterns. Check out the google images for Urobatis halleri....pretty wild variations.

Nicely done... Don't worry about the rays, one of the toughest creatures ever.. can throw them back damaged, and they recover fine, even if you leave the hook in. Unless you damage the vital organs or rip the gills badly, they pretty much survive anything..

Nice man. 4lb line with a noodle rod is so much fun. Makes macs feel huge lol. That izor stuff is really strong because it's a copolymer line. The 12lb stuff is my usual line for my baitcasters. Strong enough to bend them tiny mosquito hooks out on a bigger fish if you don't play it right. IMG_20191009_182001.jpg
