Came out to the IV rather than be home sitting through a baby shower.

Water is 59F, no bites, and the water gate occasionally make the identical sound of my bait feeder getting hit.

Wind is off the charts, whitecaps in the canals.

Gonna call it at dark. When the conditions are damn near unfishable can't really call it a skunking.

If it weren't for the shower I would have stayed home

All the canals are low right now.. none are dry that I have seen.. a place to start, at least to look, is the canal junction behind the old toys r us in calexico.. much farther than you need to go, but there will be plenty of water there..

It isn't one city or area. When water is low you need to travel to find fishable areas. Near big drops may have deep water.

I drove past lots of low water to find fishable. Search along the mains canals. Westside had more water than central

I did find a fishable canal after the dry one. current was ripping making my swimbait swim all by it self then it started raining which wasn't bad. But what really sucked was the dozens of mosquitos that were attached to my clothes and stuck to my arm.....ahhhhhh I immediately ran away and thought to my self my ocean never has mosquitos. I was out there working, so It wasn't wasted time and money on my part. I was out there exploring on the bosses dollar

Depends where you are going to be for a suggestion. Come on man, bugs are part of fishing. ;) In the summer if no wind there are a host of flying bugs that get drawn to the light in the car.

Skeeter 'pellent is a must. Wind was so harsh yesterday they didn't have a prayer.

That wind just got worse it blew all night last night. The lake was glass in the morning though. They also had a big fire at Mittry this weekend.

I read about the fire in the local paper. Is it under control?

The fire may open up more water to fish, especially with a frog. There are some big fish in that lake. I’ve had hooks straightened numerous times in the past.
