Yeah, I got all the info that all the other news sources have. 1 dead, a few injured. Boat capsized in the north end, etc...

Hoping to hear from someone who was there, saw the incident, or at least saw the boat. I know a lot of people from the site were probably there today.

Still haven't heard whether it was a fishing boat, or a pleasure boat. If it involved just 1 boat, which it kind of sounds like it did, and 4 people were onboard, it probably wasn't a fishing boat. But still.

Sounds like possibly still one person missing. Search teams looking, but obviously with it being dark, probably won't do much until the morning with the divers.

My Son took our boat out today but he was off the water by noon.. it happened later and there were two boats involved. Sad news no matter who was at fault.

Yeah just heard it sounds like there were two boats involved. So could very well have involved fishermen.

1 person was pulled from the water already deceased, and another is missing.

Just heard from a buddy who was there after it happened. He said a bass boat was hauling *** around a corner and t-boned another boat. He said it was very bloody when he got there and talked to some guys who saw it all. Ranger was doing CPR but it didn't look good. The ranger asked them to help search because there were two people ID'd on.the boat.. the scuba team showed up and they split. Sounds like they are hoping that maybe the other was dropped off at the dock before it happened. Crazy!!!

It happened at the main point going up the north arm. He never asked but assumed the boat was heading to the dock and took that corner too fast and too tight.

I asked him and he said it was under water but he thought it was a nitro , possibly blue and white but he wasn't certain.

To many folks go to fast at el cap... I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. I was almost hit at the same area by a couple dip sh$ts racing each other to the north end. I almost had to beach the boat to get out the way as they laughed their asses off. Those are the consequences of reckless boating

I talked to a friend that his buddy was there today and said yes it was a Nitro what he believed to be 18-19 ft black and gold, and an aluminum boat. Sorry I don't have any more details. Prayers to the family and friends of all...

Kellen, The boat that was hit was a Jon Boat and when he got there, the CPR was being performed on the shore near the jon Boat. He did not see the actual accident but said two guys were taken to the dock but he had no idea which boat they were on.

Out of respect. I removed my speculation on what happened...

Dang, I only know of 1 black and gold Nitro around here, and I often see him in the late afternoons fishing. I know he is a family man and tournament fisherman. We all need to slow down!!! My prayers go out to all. Do you guys think the lake will be closed tomorrow? I was planning on going out first thing in morning. Might have to wait for the afternoon. After all a bunch of boats with down scan and side scan might be able to help find the missing person, but is probably not of any help, just getting in the way of the search team. Again, I'm praying...

I'm sure the lake will at least be closed tomorrow, probably all weekend unless they find the missing person.

We "just" went through this in March at Sutherland...not good folks.
