Do you make runs with your KILL SWITCH ALWAYS worn?

    I do.

Whanna know why? And why you should wear your life vest, tourney or no?

FILMED while making a run in a fishing tournament...

I'm good about the PFD, not so good about the kill switch. I hate to be a skeptic, but this almost looked staged. I can see the passenger flipping out of the boat, but the guy holding on to the steering wheel? Probably wasn't staged, because it would have been foolish with all those other boats speeding through the area. Good reminder anyway. Thanks, Michael

Did they hit the wake of the boat in front of them? That was strange!

When I wear my kill switch, I almost always stand up and pull it out. :banghead:

The youtube video said it was a steering system failure.

Most report it was probably broken during the spin out, as during the video it just looks like the guy slowed as he went over the wake and the front 'hooked', as it came down, throwing them out.

I actually believe that he had a steering problem. Looks to me like the boat started to veer to the right slightly (he had been staying in the prop-wash and between the wakes of the boat in front of him) then when he tried to correct his heading he realized he had no steering and panicked just a little. Looks like he throttled back to dump some speed right as he was going through the wake and that caused to boat to hook and send him flying.

It looks like to me that the video backs up the steering failure. When he is coming out of the white wash and veering right he is counter steering up until he is ejected and it had no affect. It seems something got disconnected with the steering and caused him to veer right, as he exited the wake it made it worse and the motor kicked hard throwing them.

They sure ended up right next to the boat. That could have been deadly. Scary.

Luck played a huge roll as well. Imagine if the passenger side had a console as well. Glad they made it out ok.

Sucks if you watch it closely they lose a couple rods upfront, one spinning and one baitcaster. Looked to me like they steering broke or the hydraulic levels were low in the steering and it caused they to spin out. Either way they were lucky. Other boaters were asses not to stop and check to make sure they didn't get hurt, only one did, but 4 others went speeding right by!

You can hear him slow, then hit it again, then bam...

Dude needs to learn how to transverse wakes and get out to the side quicker.
