    Hey guys!

Went down to Bahia de Los Angeles this past week for a little spearfishing and fishing. The water was in the 80s so most of the bigger fish were down deep. Huge thank you to Werfless for all the helpful advice the night before I headed down there.

Went through the Calexico border crossing and was pulled over within seconds. Too many people in the car...instant $50 ticket or go back into the States. Happy to pay if I'd be allowed to go on my merry way.

The road is new and the drive pleasant. Ended up staying at the Villa Bahia. Sal the guy who runs it is a super sweet guy. We hit up some far spots past LeGuardia Island. Slayed plenty of cabrilla, pargo, snapper, and some p-fish (the name triggers some folks).

Caught a few triggers, cabrilla, and sheepshead on the rod in between dives.

On our last panga, we hit up Yellowtail Alley after a slow sabiki morning for baitfish. Caught over 150lbs of yellowtail in 40 minutes. Everyone was getting bit but me for a long time...I was not amused haha. I caught mine, then we shot off to dive.

Got my personal best cabrilla, 11.25lbs. Overall, an epic trip with epic people. August is a bit hot. Looking forward to hitting hit again late September early October.

    Cheers!

Did you see any dorado under the patties? Those water temps are plenty warm enough for them. We have done well on dorado at BOLA in the past. Who did you use for the panga? Igor is really good and runs a Super Panga.

Sorry just got back from Yosemite so just now seeing your message. We didn't see them under the paddies, but I heard they were there shortly after we left.

Here's a vid of the trip my buddy put together:
