Last year at this time i was catching bonito from shore down in the south end of MB(jetty area) from shore on a fairly regular basis. I got my first one around first of October and the last one i saw caught was Thanksgiving day.....that was last year. I've pretty much been out looking every morning this year but it isn't happening(for me at least). Any of you anglers been getting any bonies in Mission Bay this year? I'm not trying to find somebody's "secret spot".....trying to find out if anybody has caught any in MB?

seems as thought they skimmed passed SD this year. There were a few days I was able to get into a good bite right outside the bay, but it was never a consistant day to day bite. I know boaters are still getting a few here, and there, but the quality and quantity when compared to last year is nowhere near the same. Im hopeful maybe they will come in thick soon, but Im not holding my breath.

Yeah seems like they popped in for a few and that's it. There were a few days where they showed up heavy at OB pier, but literally only a few days. Nothing like last year.

Don't know if it was bonito or macks, they were too big to be chovy, but yesterday I saw a couple of seals chowing down near W. MB Dr. during Shore Pounders. I saw the boil first then the seals as they made their way underneath the bridge and into south cove.

I was back down there this morning. The bait popped up with a little bit of fish in it but i couldn't tell for sure if it was bonito or those other things(slimes).....the area has been infested with short barricuda for about 6 weeks. Maybe tomorrow......:emoji_sunglasses:

Same story up north. They weren't around long, and didn't show up in hardly any numbers. Think I only pulled 2 from oside pier and 1 just outside the harbor
