    That would be a spotted cabrilla lol, aka pinto, sardinera, or simply bass. They don't get that big anymore in the sea of cortez due to bucketeering by tourist fisherman who simply throw away their catch and pirate fishing but they get huge down off central America.

    Or you know we could stock some Spotted Cabrilla here, and say big Spotties are terrible eating, since some of us don't know the difference.

    Have seen gulf groupers caught here, and seen pix of cabrilla and snappers during warm years..
