    Thanks, I appreciate it! My shark fishing reels would be great for that but the 12 foot rods probably wouldn't be very appreciated aboard.

    Good bonito numbers on the half day boats.

    I tried a new boat today and caught 3.

    The Chubasco out of Oceanside. Good time. Big bonitos.

    Yeah, New Seaforth.. or Premier out of H & M, great captain, Tim Green. 1/2 day is gonna cost about $50, & $6. sack and Jack pot, money for gallery lunch and drinks, snacks, about $20-$25, save this, take you own lunch and snacks.. IF you catch fish... about $5-$10 for filleting, the only way to go. But, be sure to cut those Bonito immediately, just ask the crew to gill them and tail hang them in your sack. Lastly...tips for the crew, usually $5-$10. Soooo: take a wad of money (small bills for galley, tipping and filleting.)!!!
    It'll cost $100 before your done, but you'll have a great time. :emoji_sunglasses::emoji_relaxed:

    No Bonito at IB pier this morning but a lot of small mackerel

    Ayy I was there too. Was wearing a black hat and green sunglasses. Fun morning. Met NextMikeSays there too. Thanks Werfless for the loaner live bait + trolling rod, they worked great. I made the worst backlash of my life on my first cast but it was smooth sailing after that!

    I had a few sashimi pieces while cleaning the fish. Now they are going to the BBQ in 30 mins and into some poke.

    Filetted one of the bonies and made one of the filets into sashimi two ways. The first way Japanese style with wasabi nori and soy sauce and the other preparation an Italian style crudo with lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt, and garlic. Both ways turned out great! Salting the bloodline scraps for bait is a good idea, as I felt bad about how much meat I needed to toss.

    Those scraps are DEADLY bait and chum. I never throw away any part of a tuna, yellow or bone..
