Anyone know if the bonies are still out at the piers?
caught one last week
We were at Oceanside yesterday. Nada... some boils way out but nothing within casting distance.
Have been to the jetty 2 mornings in the past 4 days and once last weekend. Nothing here. Heard of a few reports of people catching them last week but I personally haven’t had any luck. Only big macks. Not so sure about the pier though.
I was at OB Saturday evening and sunday morning. Nothing. Mack fest in the evening and sllllooooowwww sunday morning. A guy did have a nice shark on the pier he caught Saturday night. Other than that just mackerel. No bone dawgs.
Found some last Wednesday mid morning on the pier
Amazingly, I believe I had a follower down in MB this morning at what I would expect to be an unusual spot for one. I saw something behind my swimbait that broke the water with its back and dorsal fin extended. Of course, like an idiot, I stopped reeling and it lost interest.
Could have been a Vina ...
Yea Werfless mentioned the same thing, the dark navy/black color was unmistakable. It was not silver or light colored at all.
Any Macks? Friend keeps saying "Theres a Sht LOAD of MACKS!!!!" sounds like hes just trying to bait me out to drive up there to fish/hang out.. bah
Vina can be pretty dark colored in the water.. Just sayin
Yea I’m just sayin I’m pretty certain you think you know what I saw. But I’m just sayin that maybe you’re not 100% correct....Just sayin.....
Honestly, the dock was pretty darn quiet. Almost everyone was just standing around without any action. I did talk to one guy that had a really nice mullet in his bucket. Said he caught it on a bloodworm! I thought that was a bit odd.
Knowing how saltwater fishing works.. I dont doubt you. Just sayin
Caught a bunch of Mack this AM off the jetty from 6-9am on 1/2oz-1oz Lazer minnows and megabaits. No bonies sadly.
Well, at least you know where to find bait..
