I just ordered a Boomerang snip tool. Now I ask ... does the tool snip braid without having to hold the line taught? I sure hope so!

Grrr! Not what I wanted to hear! I have little Varinox scissors that work for a while! Guess I wasted $11!

I don't remember having to apply noticeable tension, I have been happy with mine. Snips tag ends with no problem.

I have a pair, they worked good for a while but now they fray the line. I use 30# Suffix and 6# spiderwire. Might work if you use 65#. A pair of cheep paper scissors work just as good

Spend the coin and get a serious set of side cutters. $25 bucks and they’ll last a couple years. The sissors are cool, great side cutters work better from being a higher grade of steel. They dont rely on sliding onto the other blade either to complete the cut.

Best braid cutters I’ve used are the Pitbull Pliers. They cost around $20 but if you use a lot of braid it’s worth it.

I have used my pitbull a bunch and still cuts like new. I have my boomerang attached to my tube and cut mono and flouro, still works good for that.

View attachment 90499 The scissors are very compact and come with a sheath which is very convenient.

Walking Day at the Docks last Sunday I came across the P-Line needle nose pliers on sale for half off. They have the replaceable blade carbide cutters on them, and boy does it go through braid like butter! Cutters that have two blades that slide past each other like scissors (Bypass Cutters) do not last very long at all when used with braid - anvil or pinch cutters are the way to go.
Now I don't have to fight a rusty set of needle nose pliers for hook removal anymore, and I have a reliable braid cutter on the water as a bonus.
