Been needing a fresh carp for IV bait so went to the SDR and nothing but annoying damn turtles and last cast of the night about a 4-5 lb carp decided to volunteer.

Bagged the head and tail for one chum bag, fillets in bait bag and the body cavity for another. IV bound next week!

Never seen a Turtle at Sutherland... or El Cap or San V for that matter.

As a kid, visiting my grandmother in TX, I would shoot them in the stock ponds with a .22 rifle. They called those ponds "tanks".

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the meaning of the noun "scupper" as used here? The online search yields:

    Definition of scupper (noun)

1: an opening cut through the bulwarks of a ship so that water falling on deck may flow overboard
2: an opening in the wall of a building through which water can drain from a floor or flat roof

Same ignorance here! To me a "scupper" is a hole in a kayak to drain off excess water.
