I've gone to Calavera lake in Vista several times now without any luck. The lake has very limited shore access, with only a few spots to fish from the bank. I was wondering if anyone else ever fishes there and if so, what seems to work best?

That pond used to be pretty good a few years ago, but i saw a lot of big baggs of bass leaving to the lovely pond rapists. Now slow worming may get you bit. I used to do prety good on larger brown worms.

Thanks for the tips on the worms. I've tried in the past, but i think i'm going to hit in my pontoon and try and beat the reeds that almost entirely surround the lake. Do people actually keep bass? i didn't know that even existed still.

Get out there on your pontoon and flip the tullies with 4-6" worms. Split-shotting out in the weedbeds works well also. I've found that all the shore accessible spots are the worst on the lake, so don't be discouraged.
