I'm thinking you had enough gear! Nice work keeping at it. I'm heading out there Wednesday morning for a few days... I hope we can do as well!

Thanks for the post & pics.

Sorry for the lame report. I was being rushed

Thurs night- Threw the giant gear por nada

Fri - Threw the giant gear for several hours por nada, switched to bass gear and got a 13" smb, later switched to fly gear and got another 13" smb. Also hooked a 3lb LMB in an aquaduct but had way to reach him and he came off. 3 bites all day.

Sat- Throw the big gear again for half a day por nada, swtiched to fly gear got no bites for hours, then caught 3 in a row, including a 16" smb! that was it for the bites that day. Caught a couple micros at sunset

Sun- Got up at grey light and threw the big gear one more time por nada. Grabbed one flyrod and creek spinner and went for a walk before breakfast. Got 12 dinks in the first hour and no bites in the last hour.

Mimi and Rob were thinking about cruising out Sunday but I told them don't waste their time.

I would give the bite a 2 out of 10, but that doesn't mean anything. Tomorrow will be different.

I think I fixed the pics. It amazes me when I look at these pics how small the fish look. That fly is called a coffeys glitter minnow or something very similar to that. Very full bodied fly. Awesome. Got it at BPS. I also got some lead head minnow flies and sculpin head things that worked good in the strong currents.

I met another fly guy out there. He was very pleasant and I respect his fishing game based solely on the size of the flies he had tied on, but he misidentified almost every fly I showed him (and I rarely know what flies are called).

Yeah Tomaso, My fishing poles slept in the big fancy nice mattress bed and I slept in the little seat cushion bed. True story.

Excellent report. Take care of your gear and it will do you good. The bike looks like a great way to fish the canal.....
