My same complaint as always. What am I gonna do with it. Are they gonna have some disposal on site for them? Hell you can't even clean fish at most lakes so can't even break it down for IV bait.

Not to mention that if they really wanted carp out they would let us chum for them.

DFG never got back to me about using carp as saltwater bait. It isn't in the rules but isn't not either.

Except for the fact that I hate freshwater fishing. I'd rather stand in a puddle of my own pee in a welfare office.

Get a tournament going geofish .. Shore, bow, boat divisions.. Isn't cuyamaca private? If so, couldn't they just cut some commercial fishing permits?

I could go to something on a Sunday. If they arrange disposal for extras above and beyond bait needs.

Need a "witness protection program" for any bass fishermen who wouldn't be caught dead fishing carp. ;) They can always wear mask or bags on their heads to hide their identity.

Yeah I bury them in my yard by the garden and fruit trees. Cuyamaca is offering free fishing and camping so that's cool too. I would love to do a carp fun fish thingy. And Kevin....come on, it's not THAT bad and the company would be good. :emoji_blush:

Nope. Technically would still need an event permit from the CDFW I imagine.

Cuyamaca has been doing this for years (the carp bounty). Don’t think it’s very successful. Oddly enough, I’ve seen less carp at Cuyamaca than other lakes over the years.

I've seen tons of them down in the south end, in the last few years.

If they want the carp gone, then why can’t you chum?

DFG regs. Don't have a clue if for a special carp cull they could waive it.

The European anglers chum like there is no tomorrow for success.

Maybe on carp cull day no other fish could be targeted. Maybe allow bottom fishing and feed ducks up top to attract carp.

I try using fish in my garden and all the stray cats kept digging them up.

Got to do it......gonna stir the pot......
But.....smoked carp is actually damn tasty! Hard as hell to scale and fillet, but once that task is
done, brine it in brown sugar and salt, smoke with your favorite wood, and enjoy! The bones are
Easy to work through as they are as big as tooth picks! I swear.....I have eaten a ton of smoked fish
Over the years and smoked carp rates right up there with some of the best!
All I can say is......don't knock until you try it.......

Not gonna knock it. I've cut up lots for catfish bait and smelling the meat, I smell absolutely nothing to doubt it is edible. The ones from the SD river I wouldn't eat but the meat smells very sweet.
