I'm new to this forum and by no means a pro fisherman. I just enjoy being out on the water with my son casting a line out. I hope to learn a lot through this forum and just being out to different spots and sharing those experiences with y'all. Here's some pics from a couple recent trips.

Damn dude.. not the part of that jetty I would mess with, but then again, I would have different targets, not that I blame you in the least if you're laying out fish like that. Very nice.. rig and bait of choice if you're willing to share? Not that there is any pressure from me, more curiosity.. great fish either way...

Carolina rig with gulp worms! Do you do a lot of shore fishing?

Alright.. those shark guys are pretty closed mouthed up there. I would seriously hesitate to give you specific ideas in the north county, though if you wanted to come down to LJ sometime with the young blood, I would be happy to show you what little bit about what I know, though it isn't much compared to some on here, names come to mind, but the one who is always seemingly happy to help is Bear6813 , he has been working mission bay lately I think, and probably will be for a bit yet, as those giant rays are potentially thick in the bay at the moment, he loves those mud marlin for some reason, lol... What kind of of gear are you approaching this project with? It makes a difference

Up in that area I would put my baits out at either the North or South ends of San Elijo State Beach. Near shore reefs with deep water near by. Freshest mackeral or bonita you can get. I'd use a Pulley rig with 6 to 8oz sputnik style sinker 9/0 to 12/0 circle hook and 25 -30 feet if shock/rub leader tied to my braid with an FG knot. I will shoot you a PM with some more specific info. And yes I do love my mud marlin mainly because pound for pound youre hard pressed to find anything that pulls as hard as they do lol. Send me a PM of what gear you have and I can help get you dialed in. Tight lines to you. See you Sunday Coach
