I love catching carp they put up a fight better length wise than anybass and are alot larger and easier to catch if you have the knowlage. First i like to take an ultra light rod rated for 2-6 lb test i like berkley 6 lb test vanish next put a very small swivel (carp cause a lot of line twist) amd put it on then take about 18" of line (6lbfluro)and attach it to the swivel next take a size 10 mosquito hook and snell it on about 4" of line attach it to the main line put it about 6" or 7" up on the line nest put about a 1/8 oune wieght on and use some bread or corn and be sure to set your drag and be sure to hold on they put up a heck of a fight. And if it is a small pond put them back for more fun and if its a lake take them out but leave some in for more fun. I belive this pic was my first carp it put up a great fight

    Chris,

Thanks for the instructions. Could you also post a pic of your carp rig laid out so we have a better idea?

"careful corn is illegal to use as bait"

corn is not illegal but most lakes that stock trout won't let you
use it because trout can't digest it lol neither can humans
