    Hi Y'all,

    I have a 10ft Porta Bote with 2.5HP motor;
    It goes 5 mph with 2 person on board, can sit up to 3 person;
    I'm trying to fish the bays more, most likely on weekend morning;
    Send me a pm if you want to join me, don't worry about gas money, the engine is pretty eco.

    I can wake up and be at shelter island ~7am but if it's weekend, my time frame is pretty flexible;
    it doesn't have to be shelter island either.

    I went out by myself yesterday 4/22/2017;
    launched ~7:30am, swell was 1-2ft, 16s, way calmer than last time which I went to la jolla at 2-4ft, 9s;
    on my way out, I saw quite a bit of boats just fishing near middle of the channel mouth;
    I went just about a mile south of point loma to a kelp bed point on my fishfinder, tried a little bit double dropper tuna crab I kept from 2015, got nothing, saw no other boat and had no idea what was I doing, turned around after ~20 mins;
    Back to zuniga jetty which I see more boats, started fishing there a bit with same setup;
    got a bunch of mackerels and 1 jacksmelt if im correct;
    then I fished more middle channel mouth like others did, nothing;
    so I went to bait barge to try fishing there, current was drifting me and I had no idea what I was doing, so I left;
    went near north island's pier afterward, double dropped on a grunion from last year and a piece of shrimp, the year-old grunion got me the sculfin; tuna crab or shrimp got me lizard fish...

    View from 1 mile south of point loma:

    a sculfin:

    one more bigger lizard:

    I still have no idea how to fish for the bass or flounder or anything else... near more on-water experience and youtube videos.

    I'll go hopefully every weekend depends on swell, 16s please!
    Just msg me if you wanna join and bare with the slow 5mph boat.
