Took my kayak out for its maiden voyage on Sunday afternoon at the Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale. Ive never been there but live in OC so it was closer than other spots I usually fish. Spent the first two hours just pedaling around and learning the controls, standing up, moving around, etc. ended up with a dink bass on dshot and a catfish that blew up on my bellows gill topwater in the tules. I thought I had a nice bass for a minute lol. Overall I am very fond of the yak and can’t wait to start taking it out every week, it’s pretty fun and I get around a lot more than in a tube. I’ll probably just use the tube for ponds/specific spots on larger lakes and the yak for everything else from now on.

Done better than most in that body of water. Bass love silver spinner baits there if you ever make it back.

Nice yak choice. Those 360s are pretty sick

Dang you even got the 360 drive!
I remember my first Hobie PA and it only went forward. I really enjoyed it and sold it years later. I bought my new Hobie PA that goes forward and backward in 2019 and love it, but did not get the 360 drive($$$). I imagine a few years from now I’ll probably buy one with the 360 drive. Most of my maneuvering is out in open water anyway but lI know it could come in handy especially in stick ups and in and out of tight spots in the tulles. Again.... have fun and tight lines to ya! :)

This year i picked up my first hobie, an outback 2020 and am loving it so far. Very agile and stable platform with everything i need readily avaliable. One day i may get a PA but i like that the outback is lighter
