After a couple months trying to line things up, was able to get out on the Chubasco II out of Oceanside today with some fellow SD Fish members. Yella1 , mattgulptosser , MadMaxFishing and K-Bo Smack all made the trip. I had the boys in tow and even finally talked the wife into checking it out. A little grey and cold to start the day. We motored North up by San O and dropped on a sculpin hole. Had to toss a few back, but plenty of fish in the 11-14 inch range. Everybody had limits by 12:30 or so, so we moved on to a rock fish spot. Generally smaller fish but a few good sized reds coming over the rail. Will post another thread on a new rig we used that absolutely slated. The boat was great as usual and Captain David and his crew were on their game. They had my wife's fish in the bag and her hooks rebated before she could even catch her breath. Really great to get out with some forum members. Great to meet each of you. Hope we can fish together again real soon. Cheers!
