Headed out a few days ago to do some light tackle surf fishing. It was lights out! Bites almost every cast from the start. The fish were short striking like crazy until the sun started to go down and I switched to softshell crabs. Once they started to bite more aggressively it was back to back Corbina and croaker. Didn’t take pictures of any except for a drag ripping 18” fish that I kept and a smaller one that was deep hooked. I forgot to apply sunscreen as well. The swell that moved in yesterday brought in lots of salad but the fish are still active and it’s only a matter of waiting until things clear up. Made ceviche out of the two Corbina I kept which turned out great.

My wife prefers the beans and perch over the croakers.

Never tried as a ceviche or poke though. Nice catches !

Damn dude! We’re gonna have to make some ceviche straight on the beach next time we’re out there. I’ll bring the supplies, we just gotta catch the fish. Looks appetizing.
