I probably should not do this but the guys on the dock have been catching more than a few Crappie at Sutherland. Last year Str8t Slabaronies got on them pretty good about this same time!

I was there a week ago Sunday and witnessed a few caught off the dock. They got it set up nicely. Put some smaller docks together at the end to give more fishing areas.

Not good... We got 3 total between the 2 of us. I was tempted to jump off the boat and join them on the dock.

Trolled Risto Raps still getting some nice crappie and y. perch where I fish. Just found 5 more RRs in storage - good thing since they were disc. years ago by Rapala.

A friend turned me on to trolling crankbaits a few weeks ago when the bite is tough. The ones shown are perfect for the 8' depth I fish going down to about 4'. The other cb's shown are ones I picked up on clearance and have no idea the brand. Isn't it funny how a lure you haven't used in 35 years all of a sudden becomes useful ?!!! (Probably shouldn't have recently given away my 40 y.o. Johnson Silver Minnow Spoons to a friend who said, "the don't make them like they used to".)

Oh... I'm getting crappies as well... Some of the biggest slabs of the year as a matter of fact.

    Just not at Sutherland...

Them lil' uns are good eatin'... so are the biguns! ;)

Friday will be my last day at Sutherland for 2019. If I cannot find any bass I may troll around for Crappie. They should be in open water, right?

Yep... I like the area between the dock and the dam on left side... trying to stay in about 15 ft of water... alot of humps thru there as you know with some stick up pretty far out as you get towards the dam...

Then that point across the way on the right as you go into that arm... can hold some at time too... :emoji_wink:

The Risto Rap is a classic and for the life of me could never understand Rapala discontinuing the design.
I found 5 of the smaller ones and a few of the larger. The smaller ones have produced far more than the larger and I won't give them up quite yet.

spoonminnow , panfish guys who troll around here use the flicker shad. Dunno how inferior they are to the risto, but you might try them if you haven't
