Crappie bite

    Braved some cold temp a few evenings ago and went after whatever would bite some flies of mine.
    Got some crappie, a few bass and a nice sized bluegill.

    Interesting thing about this lake is that it's been a known crappie fishery since it was first dammed in 1750. Some of the cypress trees really are that old, by their looks.

    Good little last gasp of freshwater fishing before springtime.

    Old Mission Dam was 1803.

    Water behind the dam might be 4' deep, mostly filled in. Have seen bass there though.
