Late November at Lake Shastina in Northern Ca air temp mid 40's surface water temp 39 to 40 degree.....The Bass not as active as they were in Oct. Switch to a cold water plan and hook up with a few in deeper water about 15 to 20 feet off a point that rapped around into a cove and got lucky..... using Texas rig and VB Tokyo rig with creature baits with a very slow retrieve, is well worth being out in the cold.... Very, very cool!
Great job bajacamp pulling those bass out of that cold, cold, cold water.
In fact, I made a cup of hot coffee as I started to feel cold after reading about the air temp and seeing those pics of those bass you were holding up with your gloves on. During the winter months down here, it is tough at times to battle the elements, but your post really makes me want to try to slow down my bait retrieves this winter. I like that the bass like the Tokyo rigs, so I will keep them in mind, but most likely be using spoons and ice jigs soon. Thanks for the report and tight lines always my friend. :)

Creature baits and jigs are very productive in colder deeper water.

    Nice fish!
