Spent the morning back out on Crowley! The day started slow, smokey and damp! By 9:00, the fish started feeding, a good 3 hours of constant grabs on my midges! By 1:00, I had 25+ fish, some solid 16"- 21" specimens! This is probably the most consistent I've every seen Crowley, it's pretty much been on all summer! The streamer fishing is pretty slow still, but the midge fishing is more than making up for it! The smoke wins, time to head home! 20200915_121024.jpg 20200915_104248.jpg 20200915_102709.jpg 20200915_092642.jpg 20200915_102822.jpg 20200915_070957.jpg fishing partner!

1 brown, last year I probably had 25 during the same time! They might be deeper already. I saw people with more of them last month! Lots of Cutties this year, fewer rainbows than last couple of years! Last year at this time, I got a bunch of streamer fish, very few this year..almost all midge fish, 6" off the bottom, in 10' of water!

Look like small Salmon! I have enjoyed your pictorial tour of the Pacific Smokies! I now know how to identify a Cutthroat Trout. However, I see very little evidence that their throats have been cut!

what midges worked best for you? are you fishing in Mcgee area or towards the marina. I know the marina starts to turn on this time of year.

Almost all my fish were on copper tigers, a few on shaft emerges! All the fish are pretty much up in the north end, couple hundred yards from the Owen's. The center channel is where the majority of fish are. A few are running the shore early, but it doesn't last long. I line my tube up with the guide boats, I know the fish will be moving up and down that line!

I always thought they needed a different name! I lost a couple rainbows that looked and acted more like Chinook salmon!!

Trees are beautiful that time of year up Rock creek, Convict, and June loop. The fish should be close to all the creek mouths I would think! They're already gathering around the Owens!
