Ordered one. Will probably spool with 10 or 12 lb braid. I have a light 7' kokanee casting rod that should work well with it. Have had good luck with Shimano products. Comes in 3/22 so will know soon how it works out.

Cool... What are you gonna use this for?... 45yds of 15# isn't a lot of line, but most times we never need that much anyway... And 6.2 oz is pretty nice... My big ol' fat paws might have a problem handling it though...

Line capacity is 50 yards of 8 lb test. So it should hold 100 yards of 4 lb test which is more than enough line. Or 242 yards of 12 lb Gliss. Gliss has not been the easiest to cast with at 12 lb test on other baitcasters so I will probably try a different superline than that. The reel being shallower may reduce tendency of the line to dig into itself though.

Anyone have suggestions for a better superline or braid for light line on baitcasting reels? I am thinking of FINS Windtamer .

I will use it to cast light jigs (1/16-1/8 ounce), light Ned rigs, weightless plastics and trout sized lures. Will use it for now in the bay and then at Barrett when it opens.

Shimano has a rod to go with it but I will try light rods I already have 1st. SENSILITE CASTING

JDM trout braid is what I'm looking at.

Have you looked at the Phoenix Iron Feather braid... I think it only comes in 3# and 5#.. My buddy uses the 5# in the surf...

I use 8lb J-braid and can cast little baits far no problem. Its easy to pick out birdnests too

That is gonna be nice setup for thin braid. 50yds of 8lb mono JDM diameter might be around 6lb test here which should still be plenty for 10-15lb braid line.
For superline I like Nanofil 8 or 12lb but this line is suck in the wind and might not last in saltwater. The next choice would be 10lb Sufix 832. I found this line sink or cut through water better than power pro. Daiwa J-braid is soft but you gonna have a lot problem with tip wrap.
I do have 4 and 6 windtamer too, but don’t really care much for it, (it is better than original PP though). Another line that I’ve heard is good and wanna try it myself is X9.

Supposed to be here Wednesday, Tackle Warehouse is a lot slower shipping than they used to be. I use Nanofil on my spinning gear in the salt with no problem but it is not recommended for baitcasting, I assume it digs into itself too much. I was having a lot of problems with tip wrap with Gliss on another setup but found that if I put a bit of heat shrink tubing on the rod tip that would smooth over where the line would catch on the tip and tip wrap was much reduced. Electrical tape might work too.

If Nanofil is good in salt, perfect. Most of my spinning using Nanofil for both UL and bass setup as well as this 8lb Nanofil on baitcaster. I don’t see any problem using Nanofil on baitcaster whatsoever.
