Do all daiwa baitcasters have an audible drag when pulled on? I learned the new Zillion SV has this and at least one version of the Tatula, but I cant find a definite answer with 10 minutes of googling. Anyone with experience with the reels able to confirm for me?

Example of the audible drag that I am talking about:

I have a Tatula R 8:1 and it doesn’t have that drag clicker. Kind of a neat feature actually.. I use my Tatula for plastics and Kroc spoons, but the clicker would come in handy for bait and wait situations. Loosen the drag and wait for the clicker to go off etc..

Right now only the higher end models carry that feature. Same with shimano baitcasters. Eventually it will trickle down... I hope. Think shimano calls it "exciting drag sound" feature.
They have kits for most models on eBay. I had one on my tatula 200 but removed it because you have to actually use a smaller drag washer.

Yeah I think its pretty neat. A screaming drag would add to the excitement of hooking a fish able to pull line off the spool.

I never have bass pull more than 3 second unless I caught one with spinning or my UL setup.

I was looking for a new reel for my light surf fishing setup. Big model croakers can pull off some impressive runs. I was hoping they all had the feature so I could grab a low end cheaper model. I dont think its worth $300+ for a surf setup though, for me anyway.

Yes.. I agree with that as well my friend.. a little extra excitement never hurt anyone. When trolling feathers / cedar plugs for yellowfin, it’s always a rush to hear those clickers go off. No matter what reel or circumstance, the clicker will raise the hair on your neck.

I guess no more dubbing in the clicker sound during intense battle scenes in fishing shows.

Try that clicking drag again today, not once I hear the drag screaming for bass run, but a lot of sound coming from just keeping tension when spin handle while spool doesn’t spin. The bass were small though. I think I’d prefer crushing sound from line try to come out from tight drag lol. Really different from conventional reel where clicking activate from spool spinning, versus main gear.
