The lake guy was late again! (we miss you Diane!) I could have slept an extra 30 minutes! Got to my usual launch point and the surface of the lake was swarming with flying creatures. Swallows? I thought. Nope, bats! Less than 50 yards from that point there are a series of Bat boxes. Evidently they are working.

As always my initial casts were to entice surface strikes! Nope, nothing doin'! Went to the Fluke, still nada! Next up was the neko-rigged worm in CA 420. Immediate action! Picked it up before it hit bottom. It felt really solid and had me reaching behind the seat for the net. First jump told me she was, indeed, a nice one. That jump also set her free!

Ended up with 9 total and 3 over 3 lbs. Pretty decent morning, for me! 004.JPG 005.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG

    Paul,
You probably remember Diane would be there wearing hip waders helping people launch in low water conditions. The city lakes now dont even check for permits.
On my last trip to San vee, there was nobody on the dock , or anywhere to be found. Granted it was hot, but if there were a person in need they surely could be SOL. Two patrol boats sitting there.

Try the regular 1/0 gama dropshot hook or the Trokar 1/0 dropshot hook. I get a better hook up ratio from them.

Wacky hooks are to wide and get snagged easier.

Just ordered a 25 pack. I use black short screws for weights.

Sounds suspicious with that number, right? It is just a Zoom color. Kinda like Watermelon red. Caught my PB on it!
