was slow for the few hours i was there but i managed to to get two before the rain came in on combat jigs hellfire. i was on the dock infront of the concession stand. there was one school of 5 that came by once. most of them were single but there was quite a few groups of 3. dixon got mt.lassens this year and im pleased.
the two i got were the smallest ones we seen all day. IMG_3028.JPG IMG_3026.JPG IMG_3029.JPG IMG_3030.JPG \

They look good and healthy. Are dixon's trout being provided by calaveras again?

Very nice fish for a slow day on the dock beast759 . Thought we might have received a boat report by now. Stock came very early in the am with lots of fish over 2lb. The fishing should be a lot better today with twice the crowd. Not sure if it will dump twice the rain.

I fished the shore for 5 hours. I made some new friends, hung out with some old friends, caught a few fish and left very wet around 2:30. FWIW The fish I caught were on 8lb floro. However, I put a huge wind knot in my leader and switched to 6lb and did not get bit again. Saw some people smash it, saw some people blank it. Probably the cleanest I have seen the lake and surrounding trails in quite some time. Get there early if you want a boat this weekend.

I was on the dock for about 5 min before I walked to the end of the trail on the right side.I fished the shoreline with a size 16 olive silver bead head midge at least an hour without a bite. I switched to a size 10 olive bead head nymph type of fly and while stripping some line out to make a cast, the line I was holding got tight. Although the water level was the highest I have seen for some time, I was able to find a few different places to roll cast far enough to work the fly. Get there early enough and I am sure you will find fish along any shoreline.

I went yesterday. Fished 7:30-10:30, ended with a couple. Caught one on a crankbait and the other on a jig.
