I have a 2009 Nitro Z7 with a Mercury 150 and a 8" pro hi-jacker and 2 power poles. I am thinking of getting an Atlas 8" hydraulic jack plate, my question is, do I really need one for our lakes around San Diego?

    Thanks

Nope. You might use it occasionally if you go to the river but around here you can get by just fine without.

if you plan to fish the river then yes, it would be a nice feature. I use mine at the river on the regular but locally not as much.
