Got any trips lined up chris? I know I'm itching to pull on something nice.
Nothing yet Easy619
I'm eyeing up some 1/2 days once I can free up some time to get some line wet.
Headed to Houston in May; hopefully can break away to fish some in Galveston.
Outside of that everything is geared towards the Islands and I'm thinking my PP will arrive coinciding with the Liberty coming back online
Okay this is going to seem crazy but not sure even if its worth the drive but the trip rate is reasonable its just the drive 95 $ for a full day but its 3 hours away the island spirit has anyone been on it ??? It seems like i might catch more of a variety possibly even fair size fish after watching Dan Hernandez post from 2 weeks ago . I just want to make sure I have a good trip ! And not worried about catching drinks and its an entire day . Some one talk me out of why I shouldn't go bc im really giving it some thought but don't want to drive that damn long.
It beats paying 200.00 for a trip but at the same time om thinking it maybe the same price. I
I'd say it's worth a 3/4 or full day given the size of Lings and Reds that get pulled up there.
Hell, whitefish up there compete in size with some paddie rat yellows that I've seen taken down here...
I'd bring a cooler loaded with ice and plan it as an overnight.
Thats a good enough reason for me !
Don’t forget the obligatory report
I’ve been eyeing a trip to Channel Isle for a bit now; especially when the Ghosts start rolling in
The boats out of Santa Barbara have had boat limits the last few days . As a senior the 3/4 day on the Stardust for instance is 85 bucks Monday thru Thursday !00 bucks for any day for anyone under 12 if you have youngsters are 85 any day . The stardust for instance only runs 30 anglers instead of 40 . Covid restrictions apply . I know I will be going shortly . WR
Ghost?? I might make this trip in June i just wabt to have all fish biting at that time loomong at the report and watching. His last post lsont add up there fish report doesn't mention. Barracuda or that they caught calico unless that considered rock fish
I'm traveling from San diego so I'd only get on a whole day boat. Its 200.00 a dollars a tri I ad plus a pass port and fishing license for the day and some type of wrist band thing you need to have now. Not sure what that's about . Sound like a 300.00 considering I don't have a passport. I know I'm going to be closee to 200 driving all the way to ventura hopefully it'll be worth it it . 3/4 days boats in sand diego at 65 but they catch a lot of dinks from videos I saw and the number aren't as high
I'll save up for the trip that way I won't feel as bad spending 200 .hopefully yellow tail and white sea bass will be alsying the summer
There prices for trips are out of my league hell . I'm only willing to spend 100. But at the same time I really don't want to lol . I just miss catching decent size game on the east coast . I ant the tug but not t that price
Chris, mine is in the mail as well and hopefully will be here by next weekend for either the 1.5day or driving south to erendira. Tight lines
They’re prices for trips are out of my league. Hell, I’m only willing to spend $100 for the trip, but at the same time, I really don’t want to, lol. I just miss catching decent sized game fish from shore on the East Coast. I want the tug, but not at that price.
Haha your a grammer cop now. Let me know when I can hop on with you and your buddies on their boat for $100. Not even kidding,I'm willing to wash his boat, provided bait, etc. I just wanna learn more.
I have a masters degree in Spellyology Noms.. I’m also a self proclaimed comedian, Drywaller, and part time jack azz.. $100 is a cheap date to go out on a boat and have fun pulling on some fish, eat cheeseburgers and chat it up with the guys. Those jumbo Stripers that Chris posted are bad azz.. Especially being able to target them with success from shore.. We don’t have that type of fishery here, but we do have lots of other fun stuff to pull on, especially if you can get yourself off shore a bit.
Anxiously awaiting the status update, especially seeing the SD coming online next week...
