Now and then my legs rub the bottom of the spreader bar. In the tube 12 hours over 2 days. Gotta get some longer board shorts. Tubing has an inversely proportional effect on my success on sdfish and on grinder.
Ouch!!! I don't know anything about float tubes, but could you use a pool noodle on the spreader bar? They cost a buck at Walmart and the Dollar stores.
No pool noodle option. I can adjust the front of the seat downward to give more room but then I slide forward and have to keep hoisting myself back up. My legs get a bit rashed up ( which looks bad 2 days later ) but they heal up by next wknd.
Since when did this become a porn site? I have a similar problem while tubing. I get excited and sit on "the edge of my seat" quite literally! Have to do a bar-dip on the pontoons to get situated again.
"Since when did this become a porn site?" Perhaps when the pop-up ads appeared for the company that sells plus-sized swimsuits. But I consider those "added value." Yeah, those bar-dips in the tube aren't fun
You can cut a wetsuit in half and use them for tubing so it doesn’t get too hot if you were to wear a whole wet suit.
Another option that might help is wearing something like under Armour under your board shorts - not too different than a rash guard.
Yeah i shopped for some wet suit farmer johns but theyre a bit pricey. And because i am a fat guy they are hard to put on. Good idea Mr. C...right now I am wearing neoprene shorts under the board shorts and both layers are still too short to prevent the rash. Shopping for some longer lycra shorts now for when the water hets warmer. Used to have some Tinley running shorts that came down to the top of the kneecap...gotta find something like that.
carpkiller, I bought this at Dollar Tree in Escondido to use as knee pads for yard work. You could trim them and use them under your trunks, maybe. Bottom picture it's resting on my leg, it's pretty flexible to wrap around your leg and slide them in. Might not even have to trim them. Or use on top of your leg pants and secure them with an Ace elastic bandage. You can slide it up to your waist and it still should be long enough to cover your leg.
You all are way over thinking this as usual. All you have to do is buy a boat and you're all good. lol Maybe cut down the foam in your seat so you're not setting so high. Or a little less air in the bladder of the seat. Which ever applies
Thanks. Boats make me vomit. Gave away my last one. Second suggestion is spot on. My seat's really thin, and the foam's a stiffener that's not really serving a floatation purpose. I'll try without the foam. If my U-boat crumples into a "coffee filter," I'll put the foam back in. Was in the tube Saturday for about 4 hours. Concentrated on sitting up straight and not lifting the knees while kicking. Only a light rash on the legs.
Ok I'm going to say something that's going to get a couple these guys all worked up but here we go.... Get rid of the caddis and get a Fish Cat Deluxe, it's bigger and better There, I said it. lol
Wader skins is a company that makes just sections of wetsuits or waders .like just the legs or thighs to wear if you want.
