Dropping Water Level at San Vicente

    I was out on Jun 22nd and again the following Monday Jun 29th. When I went back to some underwater brush where I had caught a good many the first trip, it was noticeably shallower and the fish were no longer there. I looked it up, and sure enough the lake had dropped over two feet during the week in between. In fact, it has dropped about 14 feet since the first of May. It has always seemed to me that the fish seem to prefer a stable water level. I'm sure the bass and crappie for the most part have finished the spawn , but the bluegill and redear are still at it. Combine the dropping water level and all the weekend frothing of the lake, and it's easy to see why the fishing isn't up to par. Here is a chart.

    It’s a shame fishing is the last priority, actually not a priority to officials at SD lakes. $$$
